Schilling Robotics [3D/FX]

by Slade

Schilling ROV Commercial from Sharad Patel on Vimeo.

The animation project took a little over two months to complete at Hexagroup. We produced this movie for Schilling Robotics.

Sharad Patel spent over 40 hours alone on producing (recording live musicians, editing, and mixing) the music track in Pro Tools.

The team included Cory Jenson and Alex Yrigoyen (graphic design), Slade Deliberto (3D animator in After Effects, Lightwave and Maya), and Sharad Patel (After Effects, and camerawork in Maya).

For the security cam intro: all the backgrounds are either still photo 3D environments created by Slade Deliberto at Hexagroup.. The voice is by Cecelia Ottenweller at Hexagroup.

The music is based on “Suffragette City” by David Bowie and features Slade Deliberto on guitar, Ben Fordyce on drums, and Andrew Richardson on keyboards and keyboard bass. I added a little bit of additional instrumentation.

Sharad started the production process with a storyboard/video animatic which was followed almost exactly.

The actors, were filmed by Robert Murphy against greenscreen at Hassan Nadji’s studio NadjiFilms in The Heights in Houston.

The purpose of this video was to make Schilling Robotics look cooler and more fun at trade shows. Their two products (robotic manipulators and ROV’s) are already known in their industry (and fixed the BP oil leak)

Schilling Robotics

Technology that is intelligent enough to know it's own solutions. No one can operate as deep at these robots.
